A WOMAN is hundreds of dollars out-of-pocket after she tossed a lit cigarette out of a car window while driving out of a Leeton petrol station, but that wasn't the only crime alleged to have been committed that day.

The 42-year-old had admitted the crime to Leeton police and subsequently fined $450.
The incident took place at a Kurrajong Avenue service station on January 9 around 8,15pm when the woman entered the area to fuel up her vehicle.
It was at this time, the service station attendant noticed the woman had a lit cigarette in the vehicle and asked her to extinguish it immediately.

It was then a short, verbal argument started between the pair, ending with the woman driving off, but not before tossing the cigarette out the window.
The attendant was able to put it out with his foot and reported the matter to police the following day.
Police obtained CCTV footage and started their inquiries, with the woman presenting herself to the Leeton police station.
She was not arrested, but interviewed by police and fined for the offence after admitting to throwing the cigarette out of the window.
However, it was at this time she also told police her driver's licence had been disqualified until January 22, meaning she will now be required to front court for the offence of driving while disqualified.
