For many it was a novelty to experience a heavy downpour during a quick thunderstorm early on Monday morning.
A decent 28 millimetres of rain had fallen in Leeton in the 24 hours to 9am on Monday, with another two millimetres on top of that by lunchtime.
It is the first significant amount of rainfall the shire has seen not just this year, but for months.
The last time Leeton shire saw a similar total was on November 4 when 31.2mm of rain tumbled down.
