The extreme heat was also a factor, with the mercury climbing to 45.2 degrees.
While each match is only 30 minutes long, organisers did decide to implement a heat rule on the night to ensure the safety of players.
Play was slightly reduced to combat the temperatures, with players using each break to hydrate before heading back out.
In the men's, the game of the week went to the Hornets and Ducks, who battled it out on the night, with only one point separating them at the final siren.
It was the Hornets who claimed victory, 19-18.
In the women's the Hornets and Ducks also played a close match, this time with three points separating the two sides.

Again it was the Hornets who took home the honours, picking up a 13-10 victory.
In other women's results the Tigers defeated the Dragons, 12-5 and the Pandas took care of the Marlins, 13-4.
In the men's, the Pandas were too good for the Marlins, wining 23-4, while the Tigers came away with a 27-12 victory.
