EVERY year Leeton shire business owners and their staff slog their way through the day-to-day jobs, which is why a classy night out recognising their hard work is something that should be popped into the calendar right now.
The Leeton Business Awards or "The Walters" as they are also known will be held in 2020 on June 27.
Planning is already underway with experienced committee members Wayne Bond, Jodie Ryan, Krystal Roden and appointed co-ordinator Maryann Iannelli endeavoring to take this event to a new level.
The event is a Leeton Business Chamber initiative and Mr Bond, who is the president of the organisation, said the key would be to capitalise on last year's success.
"The Walters in 2019 were a huge success, with over 200 nominations and 250 attending the event," he said.
"We were astounded with its return; we just couldn't wait to start thinking of new ideas for the 2020 event."
The awards returned last year after several years in hiatus and in 2020 will again keep with its art deco theme as the event continues in its quest to recognise excellence in business and showcase the great work being done throughout the shire.
This year 12 awards will be aligned with NSW Business Chamber regional and state award categories, as well as nine local awards, including the business of the year award - the gold Walter.
Nominations will be conducted as per last year, with the public nominating local businesses and self-nominations also available.
Nominations open online and manually on Monday.
All awards will be judged by external business professionals.
Mr Bond said while the focus will be on the awards on the night, the entertainment on the night will also take centre stage.
"We're not just showcasing Leeton Businesses, we are celebrating them," he said.
The committee will be looking near and far for great MCs and post-award ceremony entertainment that will keep the mood vibrant and excited all through the night.
"Award ceremonies can be drab and boring, we need to mix it up and give our guests and sponsors something to enjoy all through the night," chamber vice president Jodie Ryan said.
Sponsorship opportunities for the event are now available.
The committee is currently finalising sponsorship opportunities.
