It is lucky that Ruth Tait knows a good massage therapist as she was injured in her loss to Carol Davidson in five games but convincing victories to Will Rawle and Zac Fairweather secured victory for Roars over Mariners.
Jets defeated Wanderers 3-1 with good wins to Blayne Thompson, David Cross and Tina Dunn. Lizette Taylor won a cliff-hanger against Leah Smith 10-12, 11-8, 12-10, 11-13, 11-9.
On Tuesday, Renegades won two matches in five games in their 4-0 victory over Strikers. Jacob Harrison lost the first two games to Trevor Whitby but recovered to win 11-13, 7-11, 11-4, 12-10, 12-10. Naomi Rawle won the fifth game 13-11 to just outlast Miranda Tait. Renegades other winners were Gary Thompson and Charmaine Lee.
Scorchers beat Hurricanes 3-1 with Narelle Ryan, Michael McColl and Isaac Bunge scoring wins. Cooper Boardman got one back for Hurricanes beating Blayne Thompson 3-1.
Wednesday's competition saw Taipans crush Wildcats 4-0, with John Gown winning a tight match 3-2 against Kira Brettschneider. Other victories went to Declan Ryan, Trish Fletcher and Finley Sales. Breakers and Bullets won two matches each but Breakers finished ahead 9-7 on games. Breakers' winners were Ian and Evan Hookway. Victories for the Bullets went to Sean Ryan over Anthony Ianelli and Ian Draper beat Carol Davidson 3-2.
On Thursday, Spurs downed the Bulls 4-1. Garry Walker won the fifth game 11-8 to edge out Rod Tait and Jakey Meldrum-Ward lost the first two games to Brendon Looby but finished strongly to win in five. Dion DeMamiel and Ondria Miller were the other winners, while Dawid Croucamp stopped the whitewash by downing Brodie Lashbook. Grizzlies had a 3-2 win over Pistons with Ruby Miller beating her brother Jack 11-8 in the fifth game and wins to Nicholas Croucamp and Bryan Shepley. Pistons' victors were Natalie Fiumara and Bill Robertson who won 3-2 over Adele Thompson and Gary Thompson respectively.
