The Ferrets won the toss and made the brave decision to send the Yanco side into bat.
Jason Burke and Dan Hillam got their side off to a strong start with 42 runs off the first 13 overs before Caleb Watson (1/22) was able to make the breakthrough when he found his way through the defences of Hillam (5).
Jock Yelland joined Burke out in the middle, and the pair looked to build on the good work. The pair made it to drinks with the score on 1/63 before Burke (51) was finally dismissed after bringing up his fifty with the score on 82 when he was knocked over by Blake McDonald.
Yelland and Zac Manwaring were able to keep the scoreboard ticking over and got their side past the 100-mark after 32.3 overs before Yelland (20) was bowled by Noah Maybon while Manwaring (12) was dismissed by Maclean Crompton (1/29).
Tye Clancy (6) and Jordan Camm (11) followed closely behind with McDonald (2/15) and Maybon (2/25) finishing with two wickets each as the Stags closed out their 40 overs on 6/134.
The Ferrets wasted no time getting to work with Mathew Axtill and Harrison Steele putting on 29 runs in the first 10 overs before almost doubling their score in the space of two overs.
Steele (15) was the first wicket to fall when he was caught by Camm off the bowling of Darcey Cullen (1/17).
Axtill (23) followed four balls later when he skyed one off the bowling of Burke (1/25) which was caught by Yelland to see the Ferrets fall to 2/47 after 13 overs.
The Ferrets still had plenty of experience, and with Daniel Muir coming into the game off the back of a fifty on return from injury they still would have been confident they would be able to pick up the points.
Muir was joined by McDonald when Axtill departed, and the pair were able to get their side on the front foot.
Over the next 14 overs, the third wicket pairing was able to put on 47 runs to double their score and get the Ferrets to within 40 runs of victory before Muir's (35) charge was finally stopped when he was caught by Yelland off the bowling of Hillam (1/25).
One experienced head was replaced by another with Adrian Axtill coming to the crease to join McDonald with the Ferrets needing to score at 2.8 runs per over to secure their victory.
The fourth-wicket pairing had little trouble chasing down the required 40 runs as Axtill (28*) and McDonald (24*) finished unbeaten to guide their side to a seven-wicket win with four overs remaining.
The Ferrets now hold a four-point lead at the top of the table over Narrandera and Yanco who are level on 12 points each.
