The biennial event is back on again this year, with organisers locking in a date that is sure to generate interest.
This year's event will be held on October 31, which is also Halloween.
While many Australians may view this as an American celebration, in recent years the event has grown in popularity in Leeton with children dressing up and going trick or treating in several neighbourhoods throughout the shire.
It is that aspect organisers of Leeton's Relay for Life are hoping to capitalise on, according to committee chairman Grace Capaldi.
"We're really excited about having Relay for Life on this date," Ms Capaldi said.

"It's something a bit different, but also gives us a bit of a theme to work with if people want to dress up that way.
"Hopefully it generates some interest for us and gets people involved.
"This will be our third relay since bringing the event back and we've tried a couple of different dates.
"(In 2018) we clashed with too many others different things that were on in town, so hopefully this time around we're well clear of things like the Leeton Show and other events.
"We're really excited."
Relay For Life is a community fundraising challenge for Cancer Council NSW.
Teams of friends, sporting organisations, families, schools and colleagues raise money in the lead up to an overnight event, where team members take turns walking around a track to signify that cancer never rests.
Organised by passionate volunteers from the Leeton shire community, the relay event is an experience that stays with participants forever.
Throughout the relay there are several activities designed to celebrate survivors and recognise their carers.
The event also honours those who have lost their battle with the disease during the poignant candlelight ceremony.
Almost 80,000 people, all across Australia, joined last year's movement, with millions more around the world.
Ms Capaldi said Leeton shire residents were now starting to realise where and how funds they raise are spent.
"I think we are getting the word out there, but there is still that stigma a little bit about the Cancer Council ... people think they don't help our local residents," she said.
"That's not the case at all.
"Around 80 per cent of what we raise does help our local residents with cancer.
"The Cancer Council is a great organisation and we're looking forward to supporting them again."
While the event may be some months away, there's no time like the present to start thinking about getting involved.
"We're planning a really great event ... there's going to be many great activities throughout the relay for everyone to take part in," Ms Capaldi said.
"People can definitely start thinking about getting a team together now.
"You can register now and start your fundraising.
"Teams do have to be registered before they can start their fundraising."
This year's Leeton Relay for Life is hoping to raise around $30,000 to $40,000.
"We'd love to raise as much money as possible, but we do know it is hard with the drought and the bushfires ... we'll just see what we can do," Ms Capaldi said.
"As they say, every little bit does help."
