Last year schools across the shire and Barellan held elections for their school captains and vice-captains.
Prefects were also chosen at high schools.
These students are now embarking on a year where they will be required to lead from the front and set a good example for their peers.
It is a role they take seriously and will no doubt take what they learn throughout 2020 into the rest of their lives.
Throughout the year, some of the school leaders will also be granted unique opportunities to part of training programs, organise fundraisers and even attend special leadership courses outside of Leeton.
