Research Road, just off the Back Yanco Road, has received funding to the tune of $68,000 to install vehicle activated signs.
The speed limit on this road will also be reducing by 20 km per hour.
The road comes to a crossroad at Back Yanco Road and drivers travelling west also need to cross an active railway line.
It is hoped the funding will help make motorists in the area more aware of any traffic dangers.
The money for the project has been made available by the state government under its safer roads program.
According to the government, the funds will be made available in the next financial year.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said it was essential for these kinds of projects to be on the government's radar for upgrade work to protect drivers and help prevent accidents.
"These are projects designed to save lives," he said.
"We are committed to reducing the state's road toll and the measures we are investing in through this program will prevent the loss of more than 1500 lives and serious injuries on our roads over 15 years."
It is believed the upgrade work will be undertaken by Leeton Shire Council.
