AN EXHAUSTING 12 hours came to an end for four Leeton swimmers on Saturday, who put themselves to the test physically to raise funds for an important cause.

Lee Irvine, Maddy Clyne, Max Norman and Sarah Clyne spearheaded a 12-hour swim at the Leeton pool on Saturday, raising close to $5700 as a result.
Starting at 6am, each of the foursome swam for an hour each to start the day before taking it in turns to be in the water swimming laps for varying lengths of time each.
Residents who wanted to help could buy their way in, swim some laps and to give their swimmer of choice a break.
"I really couldn't believe the amount of support we had on the day," Maddy said.
"There were people coming and going all day.
"We had plenty of helpers donating and getting in the water to give us a break, but there were also people who came and just donated on the day.
"We can't thank everyone enough."

The physicality of the experience was something the group felt for days after the swim.
"It was pretty gruelling," Maddy said.
"I don't think I realised how hard it would be ... I hurt my foot (in the lead up) so I couldn't kick. I think we were all pretty exhausted at the end of it."
The memorial court in honour of the late Meg Thomas is being made possible through donations such as this, as well as grant funding and money from the Leeton-Whitton Football and Netball Club.
"We're really happy to have been able to contribute," Maddy said.
