BEING part of the Leeton SunRice Festival street parade is a right of passage for residents of all ages.
The parade will again be part of this year's festival and it's already shaping up to be one of the best yet on Easter Saturday.
As always there will be all sorts of machinery, cars, bikes, hot air balloon baskets and much more taking part.
That also includes decorated truckloads of school floats carrying staff and students, as well as those from sporting organisations, community groups and charities throughout the shire.
This year's Ambassador Quest entrants will also have their own dedicated floats that they have decorated, organised and put their own special flavour to with the help of their charities and committees.
Leeton SunRice Festival director Julie Axtill said the street parade was a staple the event couldn't do without.
"I don't think you've lived in Leeton unless you've been part of the parade on Easter Saturday," she said.
"It's something people remember forever.
"People always say 'oh I remember when I was on this float when I was a kid', that sort of thing.
"We can't wait for it again."
Those who have registered to take part in the float or plan to, are required to attend an information session on Monday, March 9.
This is a place where all of the appropriate information for participants is dispersed and questions can also be answered.
Logistically the parade is quite the event to organise, so it is essential each float has a representative attend the meeting, even if they have taken part before.
Prizes will again be on offer for those taking part, with many already planning how they will decorate and dress up their vehicle and their participants.
"The parade is something everyone really enjoys, no matter their age ... it's completely free as well," Mrs Axtill said.
"A lot of people come over for a day trip to Leeton especially for this day, so it's pretty special."
The meeting will be held on Monday at the Leeton Soldiers Club from 6.30pm.
Those who haven't registered to take part should now be doing so.
