Leeton police believe the power outage was caused after a Holden Colorado allegedly being driven by a 19-year-old Leeton man crashed into a wooden power pole, removing it from the ground on Fivebough Road.
Police allege the driver and two passengers left the scene after the accident, leaving the vehicle, which was extensively damaged at the scene.
Officers attended the scene about 10.10pm on Saturday night about one hour after the accident is believed to have taken place.

They spoke to witnesses and, following their inquiries, spoke to the alleged driver on Sunday morning.
Investigations are pending into what course of action will now take place.
