The decision has been by RSL NSW to cancel all services across the state following advice from health authorities and the government relating to the COVID-19 outbreak and attempts to limit its spread.
RSL NSW acting state president Ray James said all public commemoration services across the state would not go ahead this year.
"The risk to vulnerable people during the current health situation is simply too high for these events to continue in their traditional format," he said.
"Given the significant concerns around the spread of COVID-19, it would be irresponsible to allow such large gatherings as we see each year on ANZAC Day to go ahead.
"This is not a decision we have taken lightly."
Leeton RSL Sub-branch president Peter Williams said it would be sad not to have public events go ahead in 2020, but he understood why the decision was made.
"Our oldest member in our branch is 94 ... we don't want to putting anyone at risk," he said.
"This is just what we have to do as a community."

Mr Williams said the Leeton RSL Sub-branch would soon meet to decide how it may proceed to mark the day itself privately in 2020.
He hoped residents would still remember and commemorate the day on April 25 in their own way.
Traditionally Leeton hosts a dawn service and main march, with Yanco and Whitton also holding commemorations.
