IN A week where bad news has seemed to be the order of the day, there has never been more reason to seek the comfort of something that brought many joy in their younger years.
St Peter's Anglican Church will be hosting a teddy bear's picnic mass this Sunday from 9.30am at the church.
Hosted by the Mother's Union, the idea is for everyone to bring along their favourite teddy bear or baptismal bear to the mass, which will have a different flair than usual.
Father Robert Murphy said the event would go ahead with some changes compared to "normal years".
"It will still be on ... hand sanitiser will be available," he said.
"We've had to cancel the teddy bear picnic side of things but the mass will go ahead."
