Students recently participated in the "big veggie crunch" where schools across the state all share a platter of fresh vegetables at the same set time and date.
"The aim of the program is for students to try and encourage their friends to taste foods they have not eaten before," Yanco Public principal Tarnya Grigg said.
"Students also regularly eat and take home items from our veggie garden.

"This is one of the activities we participate in as a 'live life well' school."
Meanwhile, potential students for Yanco Public have been getting involved with this year's Little Learners program, which helps prepare them for life at "big school" in the coming years.
The program is aimed at children aged three to five years and is held every Friday to help them become used to a small school setting with experiences each week all about learning in a fun and happy way.
"(It) is not only a lot of fun, but is planned around the Early Years Learning Framework which helps preschool aged children start school with greater confidence," teacher Kara Kroek said.
"The program is organised and run by an experienced teacher and teacher's aide."
There's creative play, songs, dance, music, dress-ups and much more which all happens throughout each Littler Learners session.
