Despite the Leeton Eisteddfod being months away, coronavirus concerns surrounding large public gatherings have led the event committee to cancel this year's event.

The difficult decision was officially announced by society president Judith Nolan, who wanted to prioritise public safety.
"It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I find myself in a position to cancel the Leeton Eisteddfod for 2020," she said.
"During the past week I have done much research contacting various people and organisations for their opinions."
Before coming to her final conclusion Ms Nolan contacted many groups for their opinions, including AESA, Michael McCormack's office, Leeton Shire Council, Murrumbidgee Health and a number of school teachers.
"Looking on the net I have already found a number of Eisteddfods up to late July which have been cancelled," Ms Nolan said.
"Plus as a member of Red Cross, we have been advised that all conferences and large gatherings are cancelled and only small meetings groups can gather."
