Chalk drawings with everything from rainbows to games such as hopscotch a lining many driveways and pavements outside homes in Leeton.
Resident Kylie Gray has even set up a Facebok group titled the Leeton Rainbow Trail after reading an article on social media about children in Italy creating drawings rainbows and placing them in their windows.
Further online research had Ms Gray discover rainbow artwork was popping up in places all over the world in bid to spread kindness during the pandemic.
"I am hoping this will bring the community together and spread some joy (and) that it will give our young ones a happy distraction from all the disruption and negativity the pandemic has brought into our lives.
"Our children are struggling with social isolation and the disruption to their routine.
"They are missing their friends, school, sport, and other activities.
"This initiative allows them a little fun and creative release."
Ms Gray is also hoping it means a break from electronic devices, trading those in for fresh air and creativity.
"The activity keeps kids busy and makes them feel capable and contributing to their community," she said.

"It gives young and old something to look forward to when engaging in essential exercise."
Residents have already been spotting the works while out getting their daily exercise, with many commenting it has brought a smile to their face.
Ms Gray was hopeful children would continue to draw, giving them and the entire community a reason to feel happiness.
"Doing something as simple as writing positive messages and displaying beautiful artworks will hopefully lift spirits, even if it's just a smile," she said.
"People need positivity. There is a lot of fear and uncertainty at the moment.
"People are struggling with social isolation. We need to be mindful of our mental health."
