LEETON police believe a man was likely drink driving when he crashed into a pedestrian refuge to the north of town on Saturday morning.

Police were in the Brobenah Road area when the man allegedly drove into the refuge about 3am, with police pulling him over just up from the scene.
The refuge was significantly damaged as a result. Police conducted a breath test with the man soon after.
"Because of the level of the man's intoxication it was decided to take him straight to Leeton Hospital," District Inspector Justin Cornes said.
"Police are awaiting on the results of a blood test before proceeding further."
Ovals torn up by vehicle
Leeton High School ovals were also damaged sometime between 3am and 5am on Saturday morning, with an unknown driver crashing through the facility's fence and performing several "doughnuts" on the grounds.

Help locate man
Officers are also calling on the public's assistance to locate Clancy Newman, who is wanted on three outstanding warrants issued from Leeton and Griffith courts.
The warrants relate to offences for Break and enter, breach of apprehended domestic violence order and stalking offences.

Headed back to court
AN 18-YEAR-OLD Leeton man has been issued with a court attendance notice after he was found driving without a valid licence.
The man was stopped by police at 11.35pm on Friday on Almond Road.
Checks by officers revealed the man's licence had been cancelled.
He was issued with the notice and will appear in Leeton Local Court at a later date.
