Footy flashback this week dives into Leeton United's 2014 season.
Back then, the club was still playing in the Griffith competition.
Here's how The Irrigator reported on one of their matches that season:
Leeton United in front so far
LEETON United remains the only undefeated team in the Griffith football association after a solid 5-0 win over Hanwood Juniors last weekend.
Although only three rounds into the 2014 season and having played lower ranked teams so far, United have so far surprised the pundits by playing good football and putting goals on the board.
Leeton proved too good for the hosts from the outset last Saturday, putting its first goal into the back of the net after a matter of minutes.
Coach Mitchell Clay said his side had played a good game.
"The football we played was decent," Clay said.
"Our attacking play was good. The way we kept the ball and possessed it was excellent.
"We did what we set out to do straight away."
Sam Pirrottina, who has stepped into the senior ranks this season and is playing like a veteran, scored in the ninth minute form a simple tap-in from in front.
Aaron Leeson-Woolley scored his two goals in an 11-minute period either side of half-time, the first after heading a ball that had been crossed.
Pirrottina got his second in the 63rd minute, again from a tap in but this time after putting in a fair bit of work.
Irishman Scott Monaghan, back for his second season in Australia, wrapped things up nicely in the last minute of the game for the 5-0 win.
Despite the scoreline, Clay said it wasn't a case of just turning up against Juniors.
"They still worked hard," he said of the opposition.
"We still had to create chances and put goals away, we still had to put in a good effort."
United is again under lights when it hosts competition newcomers, the Wagga-based Eastern Wanderers, at No. 1 Oval tomorrow night from 7pm.
"From what I've heard it's going to be another tough game," Clay said.
"We can't take them lightly.
"We have done well to be three from three and we are settling down into our football.
"This weekend we need to go out and do the same again."
