Mrs Paton's eight-year-old daughter Abby lives with the condition, making raising awareness of CF a cause close to the family's heart.
With this in mind, Mrs Paton set herself quite the task over the weekend in order to do this, but also raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Australia.
Mrs Paton decided to run and walk 65 kilometres on Saturday in lieu of the annual 65 Roses Day event that was unable to go ahead during coronavirus restrictions.
May is the national cystic fibrosis awareness month and Mrs Paton did not want to let the opportunity slip by, global pandemic or not.
"I had a think about how I could incorporate the '65' into a fundraiser and that's what I came up with," she said.

"I tried to do it bit-by-bit. So say I would run 15 kilometres and then come back home for a quick drink, before walking another six kilometres and so on.
"I was really lucky to have some friends of mine complete it with me along the way and the kids got involved for some of it too by getting on their bikes with us.
"That really helped to push me along."
Cystic fibrosis is a condition that damages the lungs and digestive system, making is very difficult to breathe on a daily basis.
"That's why I thought the run and walk would be the perfect way to raise awareness ... running or walking those distances is probably what it feels like everyday for someone living with CF," Mrs Paton said.
"For me to do that for just one day is really nothing when you have to live with it everyday."
As a result of her effort, Mrs Paton has not only raised awareness of CF, but through donations, she will be able to donate $3000 to the cause.
"Everyone has been really generous and supportive," she said.
"I just hope I was able to raise some awareness because that is what is important too."
The coronavirus pandemic has also highlighted how important it is for people living with CF to take precautions when it comes to their health as there remains no known cure for the condition.
