It was a long time between seeing friends and favourite teachers and the smiles on the faces of students heading back to "normality" showed why school life is so important for not just educational reasons.
There's no doubting students and parents will be relieved to be back in the classroom learning and catching up, but there's also the social aspect.
Students have gone months without seeing their friends while the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated restrictions played out.
Parents are still unable to be on the school's grounds at drop off or pick up times and have been encouraged to use the parking areas adjacent to the tennis club and the old basketball court site to reduce parking congestion in the streets around the school.
