For most it has been a scary and anxious time, particularly when it comes to livelihoods and surviving through what has been a difficult time.
While many businesses in Leeton were forced to close their doors during the peak of the pandemic, most still found a way to pivot and still offer some sort of service to their customers and the community.
It is these innovative practices that have inspired the Leeton Business Chamber to come up with its own new way of recognising the hard work of the shire's businesses.
The chamber was one of many to have to cancel an event this year, with its scheduled 2020 Leeton Business Awards not happening.

The chamber will now hold what it is calling the Leeton Pivotal Awards, which will congratulate and celebrate the efforts Leeton's businesses went to during the pandemic.
"Even through 'The Walters ' 2020 Leeton Business Awards had to be cancelled, the Leeton Business Chamber recognised the mammoth efforts (operators have) put into turning their businesses around to overcome circumstances beyond their control," the chamber said.
The event will be a "mini awards" concept, consisting of five main categories that are open to all businesses.
The awards each showcase how businesses have overcome different challenges faced during the start and height of the pandemic.
Due to current restrictions, the entire process will be completed online, judged by external judges and the winners announcement through professional videography and launched as a social media event.
Those wanting to sponsor an award should get in touch with the Leeton Business Chamber.
