Like all others, the L&D was required to close its doors when the government enforced tough coronavirus restrictions on licensed venues.
The club's restaurant continued operating for takeaways throughout.
Now that restrictions are being eased, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
"We actually thought we would be closed for a lot longer, but we were back with doors open on June 1 which was good," Mr Campbell said.
"It hasn't been overly busy since we re-opened, we've had a couple of funeral wakes, but now that we can have more people inside, we're hoping it starts to pick up again."
The club will be restarting its raffles in the coming weeks, which is sure to be popular with community members.
Prior to the shutdown, the club had been enjoying a successful couple of months thanks to being the committee for Leeton SunRice Festival Ambassador Quest entrant Tamara Bartram.
This meant Miss Bartram was hosting several of her fundraisers at the L&D, but when the pandemic struck, many of her major events were forced to be cancelled.
While it has no doubt been a tough time, after being at the helm of the L&D for so long, Mr Campbell has learnt how quickly things can change and why it is so important to adapt to change when it arrives.

He said patrons had been doing their part since re-opening, making sure they adhere to social distancing and hygiene measures, while also signing into the venue on their arrival.
The most important way the community can now support the L&D is to get themselves through the doors.
"Come in and have a meal, enjoy a drink and spend some time with family and friends here," Mr Campbell said.
With more bowlers now allowed on the greens at the L&D, this is also helping business get back on track.
Mr Campbell said the continuing to push the club into the future and making sure it is a successful enterprise was often hard, but it was all part of the challenge.
He said the best part of the job was the people.
"I've met a lot of great people through my time here and many of them I now consider to be my friends," Mr Campbell said.
The L&D's operating hours are now back to normal.
