It was this concept that Goodstart Early Learning Centre followed recently when they recognised the efforts and hours of hard work put in by cleaning staff at Leeton District Hospital.
During the pandemic the centre has made it a mission of theirs to put smiles on the faces of as many people as possible.
This has of course included the children who attend the centre everyday, but also the wider community.
They've created artworks for aged care residents, as well as exchanging letters with these senior members of the community.
More recently, the centre had a Body Shop consultant working with them for a fundraiser so they could donate hand creams and soaps to essential workers in Leeton shire.
"We discussed who these people might be and agreed that cleaners are crucial to stop the spread of COVID-19 and we also felt they weren't necessarily receiving the recognition they so highly deserve," centre director Samantha Gray said.
"We chose the amazing cleaners and support staff at the Leeton District Hospital to donate to.

"Our children also got involved by sending their artwork with some little messages over to the residents at the Leeton hospital and Carramar."
Another local business - Toad & Co. Designs helped out by donating thank you cards.
