The scope of the charitable work by the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is proceeding on a local, national and global scale.
The enthusiasm of our volunteers is ever increasing, and we feel compelled and drawn into stepping up to serve our first responders, the emergency services reacting to adversities and those suffering as a result of hardship, all while maintaining social distancing.
But nothing keeps RRT volunteers going quite like hearing the impact their support is having on the community, and the lives of those in need.
MORE NEWS
RRT volunteers from Leeton donated 20 food boxes to Leeton Connect with Kindness.
Whitton-Murrami Public School was among the recipients, sharing this message:
"On behalf of Whitton-Murrami Public School and the Whitton community, I extend a warm thank you to Leeton Connect with Kindness for the kind donation of RRT food boxes to our families in need. It is during times like these that many families and community members in our small rural towns are forgotten and endure hardship that may not be experienced in larger centres. The smiles on the recipients' faces said it all".
Ongoing communication with various Leeton agencies within the shire and community schools has enhanced strong working relationships and quality feedback obtained has helped to facilitate growth, direction and above all improvement.
At the end of the day, it's all about mates helping mates.
Despite the current global crisis RRT Australia has continued to carry those affected by drought and fire in our thoughts.
Ongoing support to those who lost their homes to Australia's most catastrophic bushfires is still being rendered in the distributing of $1000 Eftpos cash cards to those who registered and bringing a small sense of cheer back into the lives of those affected.
Cookie the Kookaburra, RRT's global mascot, has been flying into these areas and creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime within the minds of our young and old.
