Already there have been some disruptions to traffic with half of the road having been shut off to vehicles for some time.
Leeton Shire Council is redeveloping the area to make it not only easier to access for vehicles and pedestrians alike, but to also rejuvenate and beautify this part of the CBD.
The road will be closed from July 4 and will remain so until at least July 20.
Speaking at council's recent ordinary monthly meeting, director of operations Peter Keane said pedestrians will be able to access the area.
With several healthcare services in this area, he urged residents to continue to attend their appointments.
"We have communicated this (the road closure) to businesses in that area," Mr Keane said.
"There will be no parking or traffic movement during this time.
"Pedestrian access is available."
Mr Keane acknowledged the road closure would be inconvenient, but said the work had to be done.
"I tell people it's a bit like making an omelette ... you have to crack an egg first," Mr Keane said.
The work will be happening seven days a week during this time, with the possibility of night construction as well.
