The AFL Riverina board gave Osborne's move the green light at a meeting on Tuesday night, and Leeton-Whitton coach Daniel Muir is looking forward to taking on the Tigers.
"It's a bit of a new challenge," he said.
"It was always going to be a challenge this year, and this just adds to it.
"Having a new team and not having much information about their players. It will be a good challenge to see how we match up against them."
Riverina League clubs were marginally in favour of Osborne's application to join the league for the 2020 season, and that view was supported by the AFL Riverina board, who ultimately gave approval.
The Daily Advertiser understands the vote from Riverina League clubs was six to three in favour of Osborne's entry.
AFL Riverina chairman Michael Irons said the board supported the view of the majority of Riverina League clubs.
"After considering club feedback and that the majority of clubs were in favour of Osborne joining, the board approved Osborne's application to become an affiliate club member for 2020 subject to Osborne providing a list of names for their under 17.5's team," Irons said.
Osborne will remain affiliated with the Hume League and come across to the Riverina League as an affiliate for the 2020 season only.
The draw for the nine-round season came out on Friday, and with the addition of Osborne, there will be no bye which is an added bonus for Muir.
"The way our season was situated it started of we had four games a bye and then the final four games so that would have suited us," he said.
"Having the shortened season and then not having a bye isn't too much of a worry but we are just looking forward to getting back out there.
"Some teams can struggle when they come off the bye so to be able to keep that consistency and match play up will be good."
