Ten clubs will leave the state, amid its COVID-19 spike, ahead of round six.

Geelong will head to Sydney to play Brisbane at the SCG on Thursday before travelling west to the WA hub to face Collingwood a week later.

"What I'd say is we're up for it," Scott told reporters after Geelong's 37-point win over Gold Coast.

"It's not to diminish the challenge that everyone's facing but I got the strong feeling back in March that our club was up for it.

"OK, the whole world's been tipped upside down, there's going to be some bumps along the road.

"I don't think anyone in their right mind thought that we'd get out of lockdown and everything would run smoothly. I think we were prepared for the unexpected - whatever that may be.

"I'm confident we've got the right attitude - I can't guarantee that's going to translate into performance but we're not going to look back and say, 'it was too hard for us.'"

Scott said as things stood, the Cats planned to take all their players with them on the road.

"At the same time we've got a responsibility to the people left home," he said.

"I suspect people say 'Oh come, on it's not that bad, is it? Cricketers go on the road all the time.'

"The challenge is that it's been so quick and we haven't had a chance to prepare for it.

"No one went into the season, really knowing what we'd signed up for but I think we've adjusted pretty quickly, at least psychologically."
