With the 93 electoral districts in NSW under review, Leeton Shire Council has made its thoughts known on the issue.
Currently, Leeton shire is part of the Murray electorate at a state level.
However, nearby neighbours - Narrandera shire - are located in the Cootamundra electorate despite being just 25 minutes down the road.
This is something council would like to see changed should the boundaries be changed as it believes it "does not serve us well in relation to the 'community of interest' consideration that should be apparent".

Council would like to see Leeton, Narrandera and Griffith all located within the same electorate.
Reducing the size of the Murray electorate is also something Leeton shire has endorsed in its submission to the NSW Electoral Commission.
"This is a matter of adequate representation," councillor Michael Kidd said.
"The problem is western NSW is not growing, for a number of reasons, at the same rate as city areas and so the state government seems resistant to increasing the actual number of electorates in the state.
"There's no obligation for them to keep it at 93."
Cr Kidd said city areas had a higher rate of representation, while areas like Murray had a member who was expected to cover a huge area across diverse communities.
He was also concerned more seats would be dissolved into other electorates in western NSW, therefore giving even less of a voice to those in the country, regardless of their political standpoints and alliances.
Redistribution of electoral boundaries must take place by law after every second NSW state general election.
Current Member for Murray Helen Dalton has also outlined her concerns about any potential redistribution.
