BETTER than predicted rainfall across the shire has assisted one business in town to get through what otherwise could have been a dour couple of months.
Leeton Steel has experienced a busy three-month period, which owner Craig Willis has largely put down to the easing of the drought.
With a global pandemic playing out in the background, had conditions not improved, the business would likely have been very quiet during this time.
Thankfully, that hasn't been the case and it's all systems go at Leeton Steel.
Mr Willis and his wife Colleen officially took over the business, located in Pine Avenue, on July 1 last year.
It's been an interesting ride since then, but with a year of experience now under their belt, the only way is up.
Leeton Steel was able to maintain all of their staff levels during the pandemic, with Mr Willis also considering adding an extra team member in the coming weeks.
"We've been so appreciative of the support we've had recently and since we took over," Mr Willis said.
"Particularly from the farming community.
"Our first eight months were pretty quiet, so to have the last three months be so busy, is just fantastic."
It's been business as usual for Leeton Steel as an essential service during the pandemic.
"We've kept the doors open and all our guys on," Mr Willis said.
The goal is to continue bringing more stock into the store, as well as slowly making improvements to the shop itself as well.
Staff as sporting new uniforms and logos and the goal will be to continue to improve over the coming years.
For those who aren't completely across what Leeton Steel does - the business covers everything from vee belts, hydraulic hoses, nuts and bolts to bearings, an extensive range of industrial and household paint, trailer parts, general screws, a small range of camping equipment and more.
Gift vouchers and buy local gift cards are also available with plenty of gift ideas to choose from.
The best part of walking through the door at Leeton Steel is the personalised service.
Staff are happy to assist with any sort of inquiries, but customers also have access to their wide range of knowledge on all the items in stock.
"Our motto is 'great advice and the right price' and we're committed to that," Mr Willis said.
"We've been leaning on that pretty heavily. If you think we can help you, just come in and have a chat. That's what we are here for."
