The Crows are one of six teams participating in AFL Riverina's Championships competition.

The championships had been designed for teams from both the Riverina and Farrer leagues to partake in during a shortened season due to COVID-19.

However, all Farrer clubs have decided they won't be taking to the field in 2020.

Leeton-Whitton remain confident they can keep players, volunteers and spectators healthy both on and off the field provided all appropriate protocols are followed.

This has meant several of their recruits, who are based in Victoria, won't be putting on the Crows jumper this season.

However, there remains a swathe of other former juniors who have returned to the club who have not been affected by the border closing or been to any COVID-19 hotspots.

The Crows will head to Mangoplah where they will take on MCUE on Saturday after the draw was revised once again.

Leeton-Whitton have landed three home games under the fixture.

Leeton-Whitton first grade coach Daniel Muir said there would be no room for complacency from the first bounce.

"It is a shortened season, so we need to make sure we're switched on from the start because there's not going to be a whole lot of time to work on elements of our game now the season is starting," he said.

"We need to start with a win and build from there.

"Mango are always tough at home. They are a proud football club and I'm sure it's going to be a hard game."

Muir himself will be taking to the field in a competition sense for the first time in more than a year after he sat 2019 out with a season-ending injury.

The club will have some tough decisions to make when it comes to selecting their first grade side for Saturday's match up.

With so many former juniors making their way back to the Crows nest, it's a headache selectors are pleased to have.

"We're really happy to have that depth this year," Muir said.

"For us it will be about picking the best side, but also making sure we're rewarding those who have worked hard in the pre-season and over the last couple of years as well."

The depth will mean Leeton-Whitton's reserve grade should also be more competitive this season with players really having to work hard to earn their spot in the top tier.

Leeton-Whitton's netballers are also prepped and ready to go for Saturday's first match against MCUE.

Plenty of hard work has been going into the sides on the training court, with A grade and A Reserve working on a defensive game plan to get them in front in 2020.

Spectators attending the matches must adhere to COVID-19 protocols and social distancing measures.
