It was so good to see everyone enjoy themselves and the look on the kids faces having fun and enjoying everyone's company. It was estimated 100 people were there on the day.
Thanks goes to: Leeton Connect, Leeton Rapid Relief Team, mayor Paul Maytom, Leeton police and, of course, the Leeton Community Op Shop board members and volunteers.
We're looking forward to doing this day again in the future.
Congratulations also go to our Leeton Community Care and Development Inc hard-working chairman Kim Doss on not only being nominated, but to be a winner of the Leeton Pivotal Awards recently.
Also, we are enormously proud of Tarnya Meagher and Brady Smith, both from the Op Shop, on been nominated.
Reminding everyone our membership renewal is now due, only $2 to do so.
The staff and volunteers have been working hard doing a little "spruce up" of the op shop over the last couple of weeks.
MORE NEWS
It looks a treat and is more user friendly for shoppers.
It has opened up the Leeton Cannery Tea House area, which we believe sells the best coffee and the best lunches at a reasonable price. Only $5 to eat in or $6 takeaway.
You can even "pay it forward" so if anyone is a bit unfortunate there can be a meal available for them.
The Leeton Cannery Tea House at present is open for lunch only Tuesday to Friday.
The tea house is certainly a place for anyone who would like to sit down and have a coffee and a chat and maybe have a browse around and keep up with what is happening around town.
One of our volunteers is finishing soon and leaving town to go to greener pastures shall we say, Heather Northey, thank you for all you have helped us to achieve.
We wish you the absolute best for the future.
