After many years of trying to secure funding for a new sprinkler system at the Leeton High School Ovals, stakeholders were able to successfully do so and, now, the work has finally been completed.
Member for Murray Helen Dalton was in town to view the completed project after funds were made available from the state government.

The ovals are used for a wide variety of purposes and sporting organisations, including the Leeton District Cricket Association, Leeton High School, Leeton Little Athletics, Leeton Junior Rugby League, Leeton Junior Phantoms and many more.
With 2020 being a quiet year on the junior sporting front due to COVID-19, the sprinklers were installed in late March.
The system is more technologically advanced and economic.
It's a project in a long line of many that the oval stakeholders would like to see completed.
However, in order to do so, more funding will either need to be raised or applied for. Mrs Dalton encouraged the groups to continue to present a united front when it came to putting in applications for further grants.
"I would also recommend putting together a business case for what you're after ... always keep in touch with me because there are a number of paths we can set you on," she said.
"There's a lot of opportunities out there and this is certainly a great facility that I will happily advocate for.
"This project is great for the community."
