In last July council was asked by the malt house owners to consider helping out by contributing money for this road work, which includes the creation of a turning lane and other areas that are needed to ensure safety and handle an increasing volume of traffic using Darlington Point Road to get to the new facility.
Council expects the project to cost several hundred thousand dollars.
Despite not knowing 100 per cent where this money will come from, the road work has already gotten underway, according to council's director of operations Peter Keane.

He said the work needed to start relatively straight away as the malt house build itself is nearing completion and is due to open sometime next month.
"Council has made application for special funding (for the work) from the federal government, but in the event it is not forthcoming, and because the project is considered to be of such regional and shire significance from a tourism and employment perspective, council has agreed to fund the works from existing resources including a portion of reserve funds," Mr Keane said.
"This does not impact on any other planned council projects for 2020-2021."
This means council has officially endorsed the start of these works at the malt house entrance, which is being undertaken by LG Civil on its behalf.
"Council has supported these works to be completed in order to improve road user safety at what is expected to be a very busy entrance due to the facility attracting visitors to the region," Mr Keane said.
As well as these visitors and tourists, the facility will also house the Voyager Craft Malt's factory and a range of attractions suitable for many ages.
