A SHORTENED firearm and a taser were among some of the items Leeton police discovered after pulling over a 25-year-old man during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said they stopped the man on Kurrajong Avenue around 1.25am on September 13.
After speaking to the man, police conducting a search of him, as well as the Holden Commodore sedan he was driving.
At the end of the search, all up they had located a shortened firearm, ammunition, a taser and a quantity of drugs.

The man was arrested and charged, with bail refused at the time.
He was charged with possess prohibited weapon, possess ammunition without holding a licence, possess prohibited drug, possess shortened firearm, possess unauthorised firearm and supply of prohibited drug.
The 25-year-old has since been bailed, but is due to reappear before Leeton Local Court on October 13.
