Among those is the election of the mayor and deputy mayor.
Long-running mayor Paul Maytom had been thinking 2020 would be his final term as a councillor, but with local government elections for these roles not happening due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be interesting to see whether or not the incumbent throws his hat into the ring for one last turn.
Councillor George Weston is the current deputy mayor.
In the past the role of mayor hasn't had any challengers, but the deputy mayor position often has several councillors putting their hand up for the vote.
The vote on both positions will be held first up at tomorrow night's meeting.
Forward festive thinking
ANOTHER item of interest for residents is the plans to purchase new Christmas decorations for the town's main street.
Most would agree the current decorations that adorn buildings during the festive season are past their due date.
With the shire home to the spectacular Light Up Leeton festival, it's only appropriate the decorations in the main street align with this program.
MORE NEWS:
What that in mind, council will be voting on Wednesday night to purchase these new decorations, with the funding to be sourced from the reallocation of $25,000 from the 2020-21 events and culture budget and $17,000 from the infrastructure reserve (internal restriction) fund.
The new decorations are planned to be bespoke and graphically designed in the Art Deco style to light up at night thanks to solar spotlights.
Public health risk
COUNCIL has received several complaints over the past four months in relation to failing septic tanks resulting in raw ponding in or near properties from 29 to 41 Grevillia Street.
This situation poses a public health risk to residents and affects the amenity of the location.
Council will be voting on a way to resolve this situation.
Here's the recommendation council will be voting on:
Chelmsford plans
LEETON shire residents will finally be able to view the completed draft design for the redevelopment of Chelmsford Place.
Council is due to sign off on this draft design at the meeting before sending it out to the public to comment on.
Those residents with any concerns or feedback have been urged to provide their feedback during this consultation period before the final design is locked in.
Work in this area will also be dependent on funding and may be staged.
