The wind was also a challenge for the pairs semi finalists on Thursday, with four teams competing in the event.
Joan Lloyd and Jan Walker took on Elaine Sullivan and Judy Heness, while Patti Wakeman and Joan Arnold played Hilary Chambers and Fay Harris.
Both Lloyd and Wakeman took control early and didn't lose the lead throughout the game.
They won their match after their opponents conceded on the 17th end.

Playing a game of pairs, Janet Bell and Marika Pete defeated Lorraine Messner and Gill Beer.
Messner was out in front, leading 10-0 on the sixth end when Bell put her competitive hat on and won the match 23-13.
The drawn winners were Bell and Pete. Bell also scored a resting toucher.
Lorraine Mullins, Helen Symes and Jan Carroll defeated Denise Naylor, Jan Fitzpatrick and Dian Colyer.
Mullins was in control of the game when Naylor, after being 12 shots down, made a come back but ran out of time, losing 16-10.
