Also known as the Riverina Skate Championships, the event was part of Leeton Shire Council's school holiday programs and postponed Youth Week activities.
Founders of Totem Skateboarding and former Leeton locals, Nigel and David Cameron, brought about an action-packed event at the 17th Annual RIGGS Cup skate, scooter and BMX championships.
The competitions kicked off at the Leeton Skate Park at 11am with Leeton RRT volunteers giving up their public holiday to provide a free sausage sizzle barbecue and a range of cold drinks for the participants and their families.
It was outstanding to see the numbers of kids and teenagers who came to take part in the competition with their family and friends surrounding the skate rink to cheer them on.
Totem's focus is on the developing of self-esteem for the youth along, with personal identity and self-image through positive attitudes and activities.
There was a real display of amazing talent and skill.
The necessary COVID-safe precautions and procedures were in place.
