The team from Creative Community Concepts was back in Leeton shire last week to host a family-friendly event at Wattle Hill's Gossamer Park.
While rain on the day did impact on numbers, those who were in attendance were able to roll their sleeves up and participate in laser tag, fast soccer using a giant ball, as well as many other activities.
Several stakeholders joined with Creative Community Concepts to bring the event to town, including Leeton Shire Council, Rural Adversity Mental Health Program and Leeton Rapid Relief Team provided lunch for the hard-working organisers.
Creative Community Concepts operations and projects co-ordinator Mel Waterson was excited to be back in Leeton again to work with the community.
"Today is the kick off for our new project out here ... we're going to be installing a new half basketball court after receiving funding from the state government to do so," she said.
"The community's response to what we do.
"We haven't been here for a little while as our program did run out of funding.
"We had grown such a great team within the community here and were really engaged with them, but luckily we've received more funding to keep us going and that's why we are back.
"It is a wonderful community here."
Creative Community Concepts is the business operational arm of the Murdi Paaki Regional Rugby League Council and is a not-for-profit organization active in the community development space.
Its work centres on a multi-layered community development strategy that encompasses a variety of initiatives to energise and motivate communities to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of community members.
This strategy has individual programs that focuses on the various stages of an individual's life journey from childhood to adulthood and allows for a diverse range of initiatives to be employed to bring about the development of the whole of the community.
In Leeton shire - that work is specifically aimed at the people of Wattle Hill, but their activities and family fun days are open to all members of the community.
"It's not just about putting events on, it goes deeper than that," Miss Waterson said.
"Another aim we have is to try and engage the youth here into leadership-type roles.

"We'll be doing some sort of accreditation with them to be able to run basketball activities here so that they can eventually host these themselves.
"We want to equip them with skills and knowledge, but also empower them too."
Work on the half basketball court is expected to start towards the end of the year, with the team expected back at Gossamer Park in January for another fun event.
"It's all about linking the kids into community sport in town as well, which is really important for them as well," Miss Waterson said.
"We're all about bringing the community together in a positive environment.
"We love coming here. It's a great community."
Miss Waterson thanked council and Faith Rogers from the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program for their support of the day, which included them sponsoring the laser tag games that had children engaged and active.
