What that will look like is still being decided, but organisers are hopeful of putting on an event that can be enjoyed by all.
Typically Leeton's Australia Day celebrations look a little like this - barbecue breakfasts in Mountford Park, Yanco and Murrami get the day underway, which then leads into the official ceremony and awards presentation before a pool party rounds out the festivities later in the afternoon.
With uncertainty still surrounding COVID-19 regulations, organisers are tentatively starting to make places, now some of those rules are being eased.
Leeton Australia Day committee chairman deputy mayor George Weston said there would be some form of celebration.

"We're starting to sort some of it now and should be able to release some details soon," councillor Weston said.
"We think we will give it a go.
"This time we also want to make it more prestigious, so we might decide to change it up a little bit depending on what we can and can't do."
The official ceremony has been held at Mountford Park for many years, with residents gathering under the shade of the trees to hear addresses from the mayor, the Australia Day ambassador and find how who all the winners of the awards are.
These range from citizen and junior citizen of the year to group of the year and achievers of the year.
More recently, the town's sportsperson of the year awards have also been included in the day's proceedings.
While plans are being finalised for the 2021 event, Cr Weston said it was never too early to start thinking about who would be worthy of nomination for these awards.
"I think it's so important we give people the recognition they deserve," he said.
"It's been a hard year, but there are still people in our community who have been doing so many wonderful things.
"We need to recognise them."
