As part of Pink Up Leeton fundraising and awareness campaigns, clients of Kurrajong Leeton and Narrandera recently held a cupcake fundraising day in Pine Avenue.
Pink Up Leeton is currently raising money for the McGrath Foundation, with the whole town and dozens of businesses getting behind the concept.
As part of this, clients of Kurrajong decided to participate in this quest so they could contribute to the cause and get involved with the community by selling the delicious treats to raise the funds.
MORE NEWS:
"As part of the Pink Up Leeton fundraiser, the Kurrajong clients also made pink decorations to plaster over the front of the Kurrajong building in Pine Avenue," manager - Kurrajong outreach services Deanne Bolesta said.
"Over 150 cupcakes were made leading up to the cupcake sale day, all iced with creamy pink icing.
"Kurrajong clients were very happy with how the sale went, especially because their cupcakes sold out within a couple of hours.
"The clients also enjoyed greeting and serving customers and we're very pleased with the response from the local community."
Layla Bacayo was excited to be part of the day, saying the "Kurrajong cupcakes were the best as people buying them knew who made them and what they were for".
Deon Henry shared her thoughts after helping on the day, stating "I liked going to shops and volunteering to get donations for the cupcakes and having all the pink decorations, it was fun".
