Leeton and District Bowling Club
EIGHT players fronted up for the consistency championships at the Leeton and District Bowling Club last week.
Judy Heness defeated Joan Bourke and Faye Harris defeated Mary Payten. Marika Pete was victorious over Lorraine Messner.
Pete scored a 10 early in the game and led by 14 points.
Even though Messner also scored a possible 10, it wasn't enough to give her a win. In the other game Denise Naylor was able to secure a win over Elaine Sullivan.
Naylor, after scoring 10 on the seventh end, gained a handy lead. Sullivan bounced back to close the gap by two points.
The score was five points each for the next four ends, then Naylor took a nine and another 10 and went on to win the game.
The remaining six players, played a social game of triples.
Denise Naylor and Jan Fitzpatrick were the drawn winners.
Margaret Looby won the tournament raffle.
The monthly meeting will be held after play on Thursday.
