He spoke on the tradition and importance of Remembrance Day, reading a special poem for Remembrance Day entitled, The Inquisitive Mind of a Child, author unknown. Fr Robert Murphy then led the service in a prayer.
Wreaths were laid by the Sub-branch, auxiliary, Leeton Shire Council and two of our local schools, Leeton High School and Gralee School.
The Last Post was played with the town siren sounding at 11am for minute's silence followed by Reveille, allowing the community to all stop and reflect.
It was good to see so many on the street and the shop keepers stand silent outside their shops to observe the minute's silence.
We were fortunate to get the go ahead in time to sell poppies, tokens and cakes at our Remembrance Day street stall to raise funds for the welfare of our veterans.

Our raffle, a Golden Apple gift voucher for $250, was won by June Geltch.
Congratulations and many thanks to the Golden Apple and the Leeton community for their ongoing support.
Our auxiliary will gather with the RSL Sub-branch on December 3 at the Leeton Soldiers Club for Christmas dinner at 6.30pm, after the 6pm Sub-branch meeting.

Our last monthly coffee morning for the year was held recently at The Hungry Fox.
This day was a very special day for our auxiliary president, Heather Whittaker, as it was her 95th birthday.
Happy birthday to Leeton's spritely Second World War veteran.
Meetings and coffee mornings will now go into recess until after Christmas, beginning again in February 2021.
We wish everyone a safe, healthy and happy Christmas.
