A Sydney mother who allegedly stabbed her son in an eastern suburbs home will remain in custody until the new year.

Samantha Palmer, 55, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in the domestic violence-related incident.
Palmer allegedly stabbed her son Hugo Ball multiple times after 1.30am last Saturday at a Bellevue Hill house.
The 22-year-old was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious condition but was said to be stable after undergoing surgery.
Palmer has been held in custody and did not appear via video link in Sydney's Central Local Court on Wednesday, when her bail review was adjourned until January 20.
Her defence lawyer Nicholas Baltinos told the court it was not required for her to be brought up on the screen as her instructing solicitor was speaking to her separately.
She will be required to appear before the court at her next mention,
Meanwhile, Ball was not required to appear in a Gold Coast court on Wednesday where he is charged with possessing dangerous drugs and assaulting a public officer.
Lawyer Chris Hannay asked for a long adjournment, telling Southport Magistrates Court Ball had been hospitalised after an incident in Sydney.
"He has since been released into the care of his father," Mr Hannay said.
He said his client would also undergo a mental health assessment.
The former Bond University student was arrested in the heart of Surfers Paradise on October 1 in possession of cannabis and methamphetamine, according to court documents.
Ball is also charged with assaulting and spitting at a public officer while in care at the Robina Hospital.
A warrant issued for his arrest for previously failing to appear was stayed and the matters adjourned until May 20, 2021.
