The Leeton Newsagency has undergone a makeover inside its Pine Avenue building, with renovation work over the last couple of months completely freeing up the interior of the business, making the space full of light with plenty of room to move around.
It is believed work of this nature has not been completed inside this building for a number of decades, meaning there was no better time to get stuck in and change things around in what is a big refresh for the newsagency.
The front counter has changed locations and it can now handle all Lotto matters and inquiries, freeing up more space for all kinds of items, including a range of gifts for all ages, books, stationary, newspapers, games, cards and much more.
The new layout also caters for prams, walkers, wheelchairs and the like, giving it access for all residents.
Leeton Newsagency owners Matt and Bobbi Curry said they had been planning the renovation works for some time, but they were delayed due to the pandemic.
However, they were pleased to see this phase of the work completed thanks to the help of a variety of local tradesmen.
The pair said there were more plans in the pipeline for further work.
For now, they'd like to see the community head on in to enjoy the new space, have a browse and support a long-running Leeton business in the lead up to Christmas.
MORE NEWS:
"We didn't want the work to interrupt with Christmas trading, so we're glad we've been able to squeeze it in ... it's been something we've had planned for a while now," Mr Curry said.
"People have been really good when they've been coming in, we've had so much positive feedback.
"It's given us flexibility to try a few different things out with the range of stock we are getting in because of how open everything is now.
"That's what people want, so we're trying to accommodate that."
With 2020 a challenging year for so many businesses, undergoing a renovation like this shows residents that there is confidence in the sector, but all of these enterprises need everyone's support now more than ever.
The Leeton Newsagency is just one example of a business pushing to do its best for the benefit of the town.
"It does all go in one big circle," Mr Curry said.
"People come in and support us, that allows us to keep all of our local staff employed, who then all spend their money here in town. It all flows on together.
"We're also hoping next year we can start supporting the sporting groups and charities again when they all start up again."
