The NSW RFS has said dangerous conditions across the state, and a severe fire danger rating have led to the total fire ban for Saturday, November 28.
In Griffith the temperature is forecast to reach 44 degrees, with north-easterly wins up to 45 kilometres an hour, gusting up to 75 kilometres an hour.
The fire ban is in effect for Griffith, Leeton, Carrathool, Hay, Narrandera and the northern parts of Murrumbidgee Council.
A total fire ban is also in place for the southern and eastern Riverina and the lower Central West plains
No fires are permitted to be lit in the open, and all fire permits have been suspended.
No barbecues fueled by wood, charcoal or heat beads are allowed and general purpose welding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting can be done outside.
Gas and electric barbecues can still be used provided there is a responsible adult supervising and a garden hose connected to a sustainable water source is nearby.
During very high fire danger days, the NSW RFS recommends residents review their bushfire plan and monitor local weather conditions.
