New decorations have this week been installed in the main street after council re-directed funds from events that didn't go ahead in 2020 to upgrade its Christmas collection.
The decorations are baubles and each includes a festive feature in its centre such as a reindeer, candle, present and more.
The baubles also have been given an art deco design in keeping with the shire's push for the town to become the art deco capital of regional NSW.
Council put the baubles in place this week with solar lights to also light the decorations up of an evening.
Their installation ties in well with the start of December, with plenty happening this weekend to get the town into the festive spirit.
The Leeton Business Chamber will be officially kicking off its shop local this Christmas campaign on Saturday morning, the Leeton Farmers Markets, which will include the Rotary hams carnival, while the Light Up Leeton committee has been busily working on a display at the Leeton Visitor Information Centre.
Leeton Shire Council's events and cultural services co-ordinator Suesann Vos was thrilled to see the new decorations go up this week.
"We really want to encourage everyone to get out and do some laps to check out these decorations at night and then head around the rest of the town to look at people's lights," she said.
"We'd love as many homes as possible to light up.
MORE NEWS:
"The baubles are really different to what was here in the past.
"The decorations on the baubles fit in with the art deco theme, which fits in with our over-arching push for Leeton to be the art deco capital of regional NSW.
"I can't wait to see them lit up."
There are 44 baubles already installed throughout the CBD, but there are four remaining.
"That means if any businesses out there think they could have one on top of their shop or we might have missed them, to get in touch with council about the remaining ones," Mrs Vos said.
