The Ferrets made the brave decision to send the Stags into bat and from the early overs that looked to be the correct decision.
Glenn Hillam smacked a four off the fourth ball of the innings, but Blake McDonald (1/7) got his own back the very next delivery to hold on to a caught and bowled to send Hillam (4) back to the pavilion.
Dan Hillam and Anthony Mandaglio tried to get their side back on track as they put on seven runs in the next five overs before the trouble really struck for the home side.
Noah Maybon struck to removed Mandaglio (2) and followed that up when he bowled Ahmed Bilal (2) four balls later.
It went from bad to worse for the Stags as Rohan Lacey (0) became Maybon's third victim in the next over to see Yanco sitting on 4/16 after eight overs.
Stags captain Andrew Kouzan joined Hillam out in the middle, and the pair had their work cut out for them if they wanted to get their side to a competitive total.
The pair were able to put on 17 runs before wickets started to tumble once more for the Stags.
Caleb Watson was able to find a way through Kouzan's (9) defences while Ash Fraser (2/0) picked up the wickets of Hillam (13) and Zac Manwaring (0) in consecutive deliveries in the next over.
Callum Dunn (4*) saw off the hat-trick ball from Fraser, but the reprieve was short-lived as with the score on 42, Tim Grigg (4) was dismissed by Watson (2/18) while Maybon (5/10) completed his five-wicket haul with the wickets of Seth Shirdon (4) and Clare West (0) to see the Yanco side bowled out for 46 in the 22nd over.
The Stags were able to give themselves a sniff of defending their small total with the early wickets of Tyler O'Connell (2) as he fell to the bowling of Kouzan while Fraser (0) was stumped by Bilal (1/4) to see the Stags sitting on 2/9 after four overs.
McDonald (1) followed an over later as he was caught by Lacey off the bowling of Kouzan (2/15), but the Ferrets were able to find their footing after the fall of the three quick wickets.
Harrison Steele did the bulk of the scoring in a 17-run stand with Dylan McKellar before Lacey (1/12) trapped McKellar (2) in front.
That was the last of the success for the Stags as Steele (25*) and Ferrets captain Mathew Axtill (13*) were able to guide their side to a six-wicket win with 23.4 overs in hand.
The Ferrets will look to take another win into the Christmas break when they take on Narrandera while Yanco takes on LSC Colts.
