Last year the school and Member for Murray Helen Dalton lobbied the NSW government to fund works to improve the living conditions of these dorms.
In July, Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell came to the party and said the planning for the upgrade to school's boarding facilities would begin by the end of term four.
The school's 2021 prefects penned a letter to Mrs Dalton outlining their concerns.
"As students who will be occupying this dormitory, calling it home and studying for our futures, we believe that we should be entitled to have a say or in the very least be provided with some sort of information about the stages of the project," the letter read.
RELATED:
"We have requested information from our principal on the project who has informed us that he cannot discuss any proposal with us.
"This is frustrating as we feel overlooked and disregarded in this process especially when it was the school senior prefect team who, through local members, media and immense effort, brought this situation to the department's attention."
The dorm rooms in question have not been upgraded in 27 years. Mrs Dalton said she was yet to be given a clear timeline and budget for the project from the government.
"These dorms are unsafe, cramped shacks ... there's no way the minister would let her daughter stay in them," she said.
"It's unbelievable our female Premier and Education Minister think it's acceptable for girls to sleep in cramped, unsafe shacked while the boys next door get luxury suites by comparison."
The NSW government has responded via a spokesman saying progress was being made in the planning of the work.
"The Minister visited the school (last year), spoke with the staff and students, and also had a tour through the current dormitories," the spokesman said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Following her visit and, after seeing the facilities firsthand, she committed to replacing the dorms with permanent facilities.
"She directed the department to deliver this as soon as possible.
"The department has been working with the school to ensure they deliver facilities that meet the school's needs.
"Plans are being drawn up, and a business case is on track for lodgement with Treasury."
