The Ferrets won the toss and were on the back foot early, with Reece Keech (1/22) able to pick up the wicket of L&D captain Mathew Axtill (2) when he was caught by Glen Vitnell.

Harrison Steele and Ash Fraser tried to get their side moving in a positive direction; however, after a 13-run stand Steele (9) was bowled by Rob Keech.

Blake McDonald (3) followed two overs later when he was trapped in front by Rob Keech (2/10) to see the Ferrets sitting on 3/30 after 8.4 overs.

Tyler O'Connell and Fraser needed to get the scoreboard ticking over but struggled early as they added two runs before the midway mark to be sitting on 3/32.

The pairing was able to find the accelerator and scored 19 runs over the next three overs before O'Connell (5) was out stumped by Reece Maguire (1/20).

Fraser was the Ferrets backbone during their innings and was finally able to find a partner who helped to give their side the ascendancy when Scott McDonald joined him out in the middle.

Over the next four overs, the Ferrets were able to add 34 runs before Fraser (44) was caught by Mark Burns off the bowling of Michael Keech (1/22).

With 11 balls left in the innings, McDonald (18*) and MacLean Crompton (7*) were able to add 16 runs to see their side finish their 20 overs on 5/101.

It was almost a mirror image of the start of the Ferrets innings for the Colts as Mark Burns (5) was run-out by Mathew Axtill with the score on six.

The trouble for the Colts was compounded when two overs later, the dangerous Reece Maguire (6) was caught by Crompton off the bowling of Noah Maybon (1/9).

The Colts were struggling to find a batsman who was able to get a start, and the consistent fall of wickets would result in a convincing win for the Ferrets.

Blake McDonald (1/5) was the next to have an impact with the ball as he picked up the wicket of Matt Rhodes (2) to see the LSC side sitting on 3/14 after 7.4 overs.

The Colts just could not break away from the tight bowling from the Ferrets as Matt DelGuzzo (3) was the next to depart when he was caught off the bowling of Fraser (3/6).

The veteran was able to follow it up with another two wickets with the dismissals of Thomas Camm (4) and Vitnell (2).

Sam Alampi (3/6) was able to rip through the lower order with the wickets of Michael Keech (2), Rob Keech (4) and Anthony Boots (3).

The Colts were able to see out the final deliveries to finish on 9/36 and hand the Twenty20 trophy to the Ferrets.
